Research
I am interested in how secondary mathematics teachers connect knowledge from post-secondary degrees in mathematics to mathematical content in the secondary curriculum. In particular, I am interested in how prospective secondary mathematics teachers develop their “mathematical knowledge for teaching” during teacher education and the impact post-secondary mathematics knowledge has on their learning to be a teacher.
Mathematics
My mathematical interests lie in Algebraic Number Theory and Topology. My Master’s thesis focused on plane curves defined over function fields and uses the theory of heights to investigate points on the curves.
