Accommodation Options (conference discounts noted where available):

We recognize that accommodation in Vancouver can be pricey and hard to find!  We have secured some discounts for our conference participants at several hotels and hostels in the hopes that this will help with the planning of your conference visit.  We have also included here some good accommodation options even without a discount.

Gage Suites and West Coast Suites on UBC campus:  If you would prefer to stay on campus, Gage Suites and The West Coast Suites are a great option!  They offer a range of rooms with room pricing starting around 200$ with each additional person costing $35.  Guests must be 19 years or older to stay here.  More information on room types, pricing and availability can be found at the Gage Suites Website – https://suitesatubc.com/gage-apartments-vancouver/ and the West Coast Suites Website – https://suitesatubc.com/west-coast-suites-vancouver/.

Sylvia Hotel:  Sylvia hotel is a Vancouver institution, with a long history and a great location overlooking English Bay, a stone’s throw from Stanley Park, and a one hour commute from UBC campus.  We have reserved 15 rooms at the hotel, attendees can call into the hotel to make a reservation from this room block using the reservation code WDCAG2026.  Reservations are secured with a credit card and cancellation policy is 30 days prior to the arrival.   Rooms are reserved until February 9th at which point they will be released from the block and future reservation will be subject to hotel availability.  Rooms reserved and pricing are as follows:

The Cambie Hostels:  “The Cambie Hostels” has two locations, four blocks apart, one located in Gastown (310 Cambie Street) and the other on Seymour (515 Seymour Street).  The Seymour St location has more private rooms than the Cambie St location (see table below).  Transit time to UBC from these hostels is between 40 mins and 1 hour.  The following rooms are available at the two locations:

In order to book a room go https://www.cambiehostels.com/  and select the desired location.  Once you choose dates and location you will see the types of rooms.  Click on filters and you will see the option to enter the discount code.  At the time of reservation, you will only be charged for the first night. The remaining balance will be paid upon check-in. However, if you prefer to pay the full amount in advance, you can email the hostel and they can put through the charge.

Holiday Inn Vancouver Centre:   The Holiday Inn Vancouver Centre is located at 711 West Broadway, around 30 minutes by public transit from UBC campus.  They have a number of room options (see table below) with the discounted conference prices quoted per person per night, these are valid until February 5, 2026.  This link  will take you to the booking page on their website with the relevant information for the conference discount pre-entered.  Otherwise you can also enter the information manually on the booking website by selecting the group rate option and entering the code: UBC.  Once you click the link, click on View Prices, select the dates between or during March 6, 2026 as check-in and March 8, 2026 as check-out.  Select the room type you would prefer.  Follow the prompts, enter your IHG Rewards number if relevant, and pay for the room.
