My blog oath

I love reading blogs of my friends. Whether they are taking up craft challenges, going on exchange, or just re-blogging and writing about everyday life, I feel like I am able to stay in touch with them and follow them [aka stalk them mwahaha!]. I especially love vicariously living through others with their travel blogs and to pine about how nice it must be in some cozy European town as I study for exams in the cloudy Vancouver weather. But it’s so sad! When it stops! Because it always stops! I even made a bet with my globe-trotting friend that if he managed to blog his entire trip I would pay him $50. And when you’re a student, $50 is like, a big deal.  He was so confident, and scoffed when I suggested he blog once every 2 weeks. Apparently ONCE a week would be easy peasy. In the end, we decided to keep it at every two weeks, with three chances to mess up and VOILA! I have already won the money, just a few months in.

Anyways, this is a friggin long story just to make this point: it gets hard to keep writing these clever, interesting posts. Nearly impossible! But I really want to continue. So today, I have decided to take a blog oath.

I will blog. I will blog you to DEATH. I’m going to look back at this blog in 2050 when we’re all living on Mars and I’m going to be like “shit, she just really blogged the blog out of that blog”.**

Here is my oath, or rather guidelines I have created for myself:

  1. 30min to write a post. At the beginning, allow yourself an hour to write a blog post, while you continue to build up the blog appearance and figure out how things work. After a bit, only allow yourself to spend 30 min to write a post. Work on it in such a way that it is not a hugely time consuming chore.
  2. Consistency. I’m reluctant to do this, but I’m going to say bi-weekly. If I feel like I have nothing to talk about, expect random meme’s and gifs and selfies ALRIGHT.
  3. Personal. Prepare yourself. Get the popcorn, imma talk about feelings. I’m going to try my bestest to think/reflect on here so that I can process my experiences and learn!
  4. Nike it.  I gotta just do it. Sometimes I feel like I have to have something important to say for me to post but no! It doesn’t have to be long, or always super thought out. Sometimes it’s just a matter of doing it. Right?!

So I’m going to keep working on updating this list as I go, and we will see what happens.

Talk to you soon
