Getting to UBC:
UBC is located in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, which is accessed by flights into Vancouver Int’l Airport (YVR), B.C Ferries to Tsawwassen and Horseshoe Bay, and trains and buses to Pacific Central Station and other points in the city. Public transit is operated by TransLink, and route planning information is available at http://tripplanning.translink.ca (choose UBC Loop at your destination). Downtown Vancouver is approximately 25 minutes by bus, with many buses serving UBC.
From Vancouver International Airport: To reach UBC from Vancouver Int’l Airport, take the Canada Line Skytrain to Broadway/City Hall station, and then take the 99 B-Line bus to UBC. The trip takes about an hour and costs $7.75.
From Tsawassen ferry terminal: At the terminal, get on bus 620 to Bridgeport Station. From Bridgeport station, you can either take bus 480 to UBC during peak hours, or you can take the Canada Line towards Waterfront and transfer to the 99 B-Line bus to UBC at Broadway/City Hall station. Either option takes about 90 minutes and costs $5.50
From Pacific Central Station: Exit the station and cross Main St to find the bus stop for southbound buses; it’s close to the Starbucks and the access to the SkyTrain station. From the bus stop, take either bus 3, 8 or 19 southbound, and get off at Broadway. From Broadway you can transfer to the 99 B-Line to UBC. The entire trip takes approx. 45 min and costs $2.75.
From Downtown: Several buses run from various parts of downtown Vancouver directly to UBC. Bus 4 departs from Waterfront Station and travels down Granville, and then directly to UBC via 4th Ave. Bus 14 runs along Hastings and then Granville, and then directly to UBC via Broadway. Bus 44 is an express bus (peak hours only) that departs Waterfront and runs along Burrard and then along 4th to UBC.
Getting around UBC:
From the main bus loop, two shuttles serve the campus, C18 and C20; they leave on the quarter hour and cost $2.75. The campus is, however, extremely and pleasantly walkable, and maps are placed throughout the campus to show you where you are and everything within a 5 minute walk from that point. A number of construction projects are ongoing, but pedestrian detours are generally clearly marked. Alternatively, The Bike Kitchen rents bicycles; bike parking is ample throughout the campus.
