A Bridge Between Culture And Profit

Re: If the United Nations was fully funded why would we need the Arc or social enterprise?
Could we say that if the United Nations have enough funds means all the alliance countries are fully funded? It is easy to get a negative answer because there is a gap of wealth exists generally, especially between western developed countries and the third world countries like Libya. In those undeveloped areas, people are still struggling with poverty and disease, moreover, there is usually a conflict between high unemployment rate and commodity shortage. Although the United Nations tried to help the undeveloped countries as much as possible like providing them with financial aids, it is still difficult to solve these problems thoroughly.
However, An increasing number of entrepreneurs begin to realize that a better way to ameliorate their life is to help them find out a way transferring the disadvantage to superiority, which is also a good idea to create profits for both the operations themselves and the poverty people. These entrepreneurs hire “vulnerable people”(mostly are rural women and disabled person with survival problems), teaching them with certain skills and provide them a chance to make money and to improve their living standards.
An interesting thing should be noticed that these aiding programs like ARC in Sauder, UBC, can be usually found involving with regional culture and traditional crafts which are rarely known all over the world. Therefore, we can believe that it is also a good way to maintain traditional culture and help them to communicate with the whole world.

Business with a heart

下载sss

Business nowadays is not just for maximizing the cooperation’s profit. It is obvious that people began to pin their hope on the entrepreneurs and wish them to contribute more for the whole society. As the blog cited explained, “CSR can have both internal and external benefits for your business. It can help you attract investors, new recruits and customers and retain quality employees all while enhancing the reputation of your business. It can also help to improve the work culture of your business and serve as an opportunity for employees to gain new skills and experiences.” CSR can improve the social and economic environment which the business mainly works on, therefore, the company itself can get a positive reaction which can actually enhance the shareholder’s revenue.
Although CSR is relatively a new idea which may lack of mature and systematic theory, there are still a lot of entrepreneurs trying their best to change the world. These social entrepreneurs, however, give us a totally new perspective to inspect the relationship between profit and charity. Creating a shared value with both society and business should be payed more attention in upcoming decades.
