About me

Dr. Yeonuk Kim

I am a postdoctoral research fellow at the Institute for Resources, Environment and Sustainability at the University of British Columbia, and a member of UBC Ecohydro Lab.

My research interests include (1) land-atmosphere feedback, (2) changes in the water and carbon cycles under anthropogenic climate change, (3) machine-learning applications to land surface and climate modelling (4) micrometeorological measurements of turbulent heat, water vapour, and trace gas fluxes.

Currently, I am working on a project developing models for evapotranspiration and drought using satellite remote sensing, which is funded by the Canadian Space Agency (PI: Mark Johnson, Co-Is: T. Andrew Black, Monica Garcia, Nicholas Coops, Yeonuk Kim).

I obtained PhD degree from UBC, and my doctoral research focused on a land-atmosphere coupling theory and its applications in climate impact analyses. Previously, I received a BSc degree from Seoul National University, and then worked at the National Centre for AgroMeteorology in South Korea.
