Global Health Initiative

GHI is a student-led initiative including students with various backgrounds and different levels of global health knowledge. Students, through GHI, have the opportunity to learn more about global health in both workshops and lecture series. GHI also offers the opportunity to participate in a global health project during the summer, either internationally or locally. Past teams have included students from Medicine, Dentistry, Engineering, Land and Food systems, Journalism, and Integrated Science.

We also have an exciting opportunity to join the Refugee Health Initiative within GHI, which provides incredible opportunities to learn about refugee health in the city of Vancouver, throughout the whole year.

On September 24th, the evening will begin with an introduction of GHI by Hasrit Sidhu and Raiya Suleman, the 2018/19 GHI Co-Chairs, followed Dr. Videsh Kapoor who is the Director, Division of Global Health, Faculty of Medicine at UBC. Each team from the previous year has been invited to come and share their project and future directions in a short presentation. It is an exciting opportunity to learn about all of the projects in the GHI and become involved in the organization.
