This is a UBC Blogs site for course 565A as part of the MET program.
Here you will find my postings for this course.
I chose the ‘Setting Sun’ graphic as I’m nearing the end of the MET program…or is it a ‘Rising Sun’ for the future 😉

Week 7 – Synchronous and Asynchronous Communication
I not sure what activity I would use per se but I would want to use both synchronous and asynchronous communication.
Initially, I would want students to use technology for a real time forum such as Google Talk, WebEx, Skype, etc. in order exchange ideas, comments, discussions, in real time.
Then, I would want each student individually post an entry, video or written text, on their course blog regarding the activity.
I think this could be highly beneficial for students as most students tend to prefer one of these methods, based on personality (extrovert, introvert, etc.) Also, this would allow for the benefits of both synchronous and asynchronous communication…the best of both worlds!
Cheers!
