International Travel
International visitors to Canada landing at a Canadian airport will need to obtain an Electronic Travel Authorization prior to their departure.
Note: US travelers or travelers arriving by car, bus, train or boat (including a cruise ship) do not need an Electronic Travel Authorization.
To save time at Customs and Immigration, pre-register your declaration form with the ArriveCAN app up to 72 hours before your flight. More information about ArriveCAN’s advanced declaration is available here

Traveling from YVR

Public Transit from YVR to UBC
- From YVR, take the Canada Line SkyTrain (all routes head north)
- Transfer at one of the following stations
- Oakridge Station (41 Ave. & Cambie St.): Take bus #41 or #43
- Broadway City Hall Station (Broadway & Cambie St.): Take bus #99 (B-Line)
- Olympic Village Station (4 Ave. & Cambie St.): Take bus #84
- Arrive at UBC (UBC is final stop; all buses stop within a 5 minute walk of the West Coast Suites).
Checking in at UBC
There is no online check-in available for UBC’s guest accommodations. For Gage Suites and West Coast Suites, check in at the front desk located at 5959 Student Union Blvd., in the main lobby of the Walter Gage residence building. Check-in is available any time after 4:00PM. If you are using a car, front desk staff can direct you to parking locations.
