Buy a Watch – Feed a Child

An American company named Flex watches have always maintain their goal to give back to society. For every purchase made on their products, 10% of the profit is given to provide food for children in Mexico.

“It is estimated that as much as 95% of children in the rural communities in Mexico go to school without breakfast. Without food, children don’t have the fuel they need to pay attention and learn. 250-300 children are fed a warm and nutritious meal each morning before school. As a result, students are more focused and performing better in school, thereby equipping them to be the change within their own community. The community is coming together around this kitchen and has found a safe gathering place, a warm meal & fellowship that continues to grow every day. Thanks to you, we have the ability to create a significant impact in these children’s lives. By providing them with meals + education, we are making a difference in children’s lives that will affect them forever.”

This reminded me of my TA class where Save On Meats was introduced. A thought came to my mind about how companies can benefit from giving back to the community.

Firstly, they differentiate themselves from their competitors. It is estimated that 82% of consumers consider (CSR) cooperate social responsibility before deciding where to shop or what to buy.

Secondly, employees would be more dedicated in their work. Employees who work for these type of companies share a common goal. They would want to see the company succeed so the world would become a better place. Comparing to a company whose main goal is to exploit consumers to maximise their profits.

Finally, customer loyalty. Once customers know your cause is to create a better future they would be determine to contribute.
