About Me
My name is Carmen Yau and I am currently a 3rd year student at UBC. I’m specializing in Animal Science in the Land and Foods Faculty. The purpose of this blog is for my APBI 315 course.
I chose the topic of cosmetic testing because cosmetics are widely popular and used in everyday life. I feel that it is important for others to be aware of how the cosmetics we use came to production and how animals play a role in them.

This is Snickers, my pet rabbit. He is currently 1 year and 7 months old and litter trained! During my research on animal cosmetic testing, numerous pictures of rabbits that have endured the Draize Test have popped up. It's heart-breaking that experimenters are willing to test cosmetics on innocent animals when there is no law that states the testing on animals is mandatory.
