COVID-19 and online coursework note: UBC has announced that courses held in 2020S will be online. CPSC 436I will proceed! Here’s some details on how:
- All workshops, design reviews, and labs will be fully online (but live, rather than pre-recorded), primarily via Zoom and Slack. We may need to work out additional details.
- There will definitely be a fully-online option for students to participate in the August showcase. Most likely, that will be a pre-recorded demo video showing off your project (and meeting the requirements for the showcase presentation rubric), details to come by a month before the showcase at latest.
- Since our showcase is still several months away, it is possible the health situation will have changed by then. If the BC and Canadian health services would deem our showcase in early August acceptable, we may also have an in-person option, but again no one will be required to attend the showcase in person. (If we do have an in-person showcase, we may ask for advance notice about whether you’ll be attending in person but not any sort of justification if you choose not to do so!)
