‘When I was studying piano, I practiced from 9 am to noon, took an hour off for lunch, practiced from 1 to 6 in the afternoon, then went to dinner and went back to the piano about 7:30. I’d keep practicing until my mother would come in and drag me away from it so the family could get some sleep.’
