Global Competitiveness
The World Economic Forum publishes an annual Global Competitiveness report. In the 2013-2014 Preface, we read: …’although the global economy’s prospects are more positive than they were when we released last year’s Report, growth has begun to slow across many emerging economies, and advanced economies in Europe and elsewhere continue to struggle.’
In their measure of competitiveness, the WEF identifies 12 pillars of competitiveness, the twelfth of which is innovation.
Across all of the pillars, Switzerland, Singapore and the US come out on top.
Finland, Switzerland and Israel top the specific Innovation Index.
Canada scores 15th overall, 22nd in Innovation.
