As instructed on the English 301 Course Website, I have conducted some research pertaining to using LinkedIn. While many individuals use this site, it requires a lot of effort to optimize your network and land a job. Below I have summarized ten focal points highlighting the best practices for using LinkedIn as a professional networking site:

Use a professional headshot, in which you are dressed in work attire.
Make your headline and summary appealing by emphasizing your personality as well as your professional abilities.
Keep your profile updated with work experience, volunteer experience, and projects.
Optimize your profile with keywords and endorsements that match those on your resume.
Get a custom URL to show that you are comfortable in using the site.
Participate in groups that are specific to your field to start discussions and ask questions.
Set a goal for adding connections and reaching out to people you know.
Publish content on the platform such as articles about your experiences.
Use the open candidate feature to privately notify companies that you are interested in working with them.
Be professional, be genuine, and be respectful in your interactions.

In conclusion, these points emphasize utilizing LinkedIn frequently and using it as a platform to showcase your achievements and experience. I hope this list of best practices proves to be useful in your LinkedIn endeavours.
