Dear Team incrEDIBLES,

As requested in the ENGL 301 course curriculum, I have researched best practices for professional networking on LinkedIn. My research results are summarized below:

• Make sure you have a professional looking headshot as your profile picture
• Your headline should describe who you are and what you are looking for
• By default, LinkedIn only shows the first three lines of your profile summary in search results. Those first three lines are your most important words.
• Always write a summary, but do not include any industry jargon. The summary should be short and sweet, and portray your personality
• Make sure your profile summary contains keywords for the industry you would like to work in. This will help you to appear in more search results.
• Don’t list all the classes that you’ve ever taken.
• In order to add more personality to your page, upload a background photo that matches your brand
• Customize your profile link in order to make it easier to access
• Proofread your profile to ensure that there are no typos or grammatical errors
