I am writing this email to send you the current progress of my formal report, ‘Improving UBC Students’ Experience in Hybrid Courses’. Please check the details of the formal report below.
The audience of the Report
The formal report is planned for the professors at UBC and Santa J. Ono, the president of UBC. The professors who are willing to improve the hybrid courses will be the primary target audiences.
Purpose of the Report
The research is purposed to find out both students’ and professors’ satisfaction and complaints on the hybrid courses and suggest the best ways of delivering courses in hybrid ways, based on the data collected from UBC students and professors.
Significance of the Study
Due to COVID-19, most universities experienced online and hybrid courses in the last two or three years. More and more universities are coming back to in-person lectures, but online tools are still very useful as some students still want to use online tools. However, such opinions are not studied at UBC, so the opinions on hybrid courses are not defined clearly. Therefore, this study is aimed to clarify the opinions and improve the learning experience at UBC.
Research Plan
The research is planned to follow the steps below:
– Identify the background of the problem using secondary data on hybrid courses
– Clarify the purpose and scope of the survey and interview
The study contains a survey on UBC students’ experience and preferences for hybrid courses, and an interview f0r UBC professors’ satisfaction and expectation for hybrid courses.
– Compose survey and interview question

– Conducting the survey and the interview
As the schedule is tight, the survey and interview scales will be 30 UBC students and 2 UBC professors each.
– Work on secondary research
The secondary research will focus on finding out the worldwide trend of hybrid courses, and the popular ways of adapting online tools with visual resources.
– Analyze the primary data
The data analysis will be focused on the current satisfaction and opinions on the future hybrid courses.
– Work on the formal report
The formal report will be written based on the outline plan: Formal Report Outline.
