to create a quick poll of how many devices/ laptops/ smart phones are in the homes of your students. Additionally you could poll how many devices/ laptops/ smart phones are no longer in use or have been thrown/ given away.

Ask students to write a reflection after the videos titled “How does my use of devices/ laptops/ smart phones affect other people around the world?”
Share reflective responses in a class discussion.
Assessment –
Students will create an interactive map using the website: http://www.mappingisfun.com/
based on what they have learned and additional research that they do. Students should consider which parts of the world may be involved in making their technology and which parts of the world may be involved in disposing of their technology.
Suggest that students title their map – My Connection to the World through device/ laptop/ smart phone Ownership.
