I have been into teaching and administration at higher education institutions in India, Eritrea and now in Vancouver, Canada.
I would sum up my five plus decades of life experience as a continuous span of learning to build upon prior learning. A teacher especially, is always a learner, and this quote of Gandhi, I mentioned here inspires me the most. Hence, I’m here as a new student and this is my first course in this program.
I have taught courses in English language, literature, ESL and culture studies. I am presently into testing and assessment and even been into content writing for Canadian language proficiency tests.
I presume it would be both an experience and an opportunity to explore how most enterprises in the field of educational technology take shape, in order to aid and support digital learning. I have no experience in business but I’m optimistic of using the knowledge gained here, in addressing the concerns that I discern in the process of teaching and learning, analysis and evaluation of education at the post secondary level..
Look forward to collaborate with you all on learning and exploring through this program.
Welcome to MET, Vijaya.
Thanks for sharing those words of wisdom from Gandhi. Beautiful words, that I am going to have to remember.
Thanks Erica, Glad to know you too like those quoted words. They are profound indeed!
A man full of beautiful words and ideas!
Hi Vijaya,
Welcome to the program! I look forward to learning with you and hearing your perspective as the course progresses.
Thanks Adrian. I look forward too for further interaction as the course progresses.
Hi Vijaya,
I only got to go to India once, but I would love to return. In university, I raised $5,000 with my college rock band and $43,000 collectively with other volunteers in Colorado to construct a water filtration system in India. We worked with engineers from a university in Pune. It was an amazing experience. I’ll never forget new year’s in Mumbai when all the engineering students took out the CO students out on motorcycles. What a place. I love your quote as India really made me want to live to the fullest and see in full colour everyday !
