Pear Deck is a company that is focused on transforming traditional teaching with engaging presentation tools. Created using current learning science research, Pearl Deck features a suite of presentation enhancing features that allow for increased student interaction in the classroom. Pear Deck’s primary product allows teachers to use the add-on with both Google Apps for Education and Microsoft Office 365 to enhance presentations. In addition to these add-ons, Pear Deck offers integration with LMSs such as Schoology, Google Classroom and Canvas.

Upon completing a BS in Computer Science and Mathematics, Riley Eynon-Lynch began his career as a teacher and camp director. His first venture was in the form of a standards-based grading tool, ActiveGrade. Riley Eynon-Lynch only worked on this project for two years, as it was eventually sold to Haiku Learning to be used in the current PowerSchool gradebook. Riley Eynon-Lynch founded Pear Deck as part of a four-member co-founder team, which is an indication that he understands the impact of surrounding himself with a strong team. In 2017, Eynon-Lynch partnered with Growth Street, an early growth capital firm, to fund the growth of the company. It seems as though this was an excellent fit as the values of Growth Street and Pear Deck are closely aligned.

Riley Eynon-Lynch is a good role model for would-be entrepreneurs. He appears to have used his experience as a teacher and camp director to launch ActiveGrade before launching Pear Deck. Even after selling PearDeck to GoGuardian last year, Riley Eynon-Lynch stayed on as the GoGuardian Board of Directors. (More details here: https://clayandmilk.com/2020/11/25/pear-deck-acquired-by-california-based-edtech-company/) He appears to remain focused on the the dedication to transform remote learning. Looks like being a teacher-entrepreneur is a part of his nature.
