For this assignment, I focused on something that is “an existing real-world learning technologies product, service, venture or market of special interest to me” – the Chill Pill by Mind Your Mental.
I work in a psychiatric hospital where we are looking to research the feasibility (both qualitatively and quantitatively) of this little device on stress, anxiety, sleep, and self-harm.

A very interesting product you brought to us, Emma. I appreciate that you gave us a few things for potential investors to consider, as I had two of those questions myself! I DID NOT like how the promotional video for the product was narrated by a machine, as this should have been done by humans since the anxiety and insomnia that it claims to cure are very personal in nature. I’m glad you broadened your scope to not simply focus on the psychiatric ward but also to insomnia. As you noted, sleep aids are a multi-million dollar industry and there is a lot of potential to secure a small portion of that group. As someone who has had difficulty sleeping lately, it affects every part of my day and I’d certainly buy a product that could assist me. I can’t keep upping the melatonin dose!!! I don’t think it would be wise to invest in this product until further research from credible sources has been done. Thanks for the detailed analysis, Emma. Ok, time for me to try and get some sleep!
