Editing a comment after publishing

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone knows how to edit a comment you’ve made after it’s been published. For example, in Canvas etc, you can make revisions or edits to your comment replyt after posting. I can’t seem to find a method of doing so with this blog site.

Cheers,

Bradley

    Hi Bradley,
If you go into your dashboard it will show you your posts and then you should be able to go in and edit your message. Once you have edited just hit update and you should be good

    Hi Meagan,

Thanks for the help! I see I can edit my main posts but still not sure about comments…like this one I am posting now. I wonder if it is a setting in the original post.

Essentially, I can see on your post above ‘Permalink | Edit | Reply’. In fact I can even edit your post!! But, I don’t see the Edit button on my own comments elsewhere in this blog. I’m curious if I will see the edit button when I post this comment…

Edit 1: I do see the edit button for this comment and added this remark. Strangely, in the Emerging Markets Poll, I am unable to edit my comments there.

Edit 2: In fact my comments on the Emerging Markets Poll posts don’t even appear in my dashboard.

Edit 3: Nevermind, they do, I just need to click comments, rather than posts. However, they are still uneditable.

    Thanks Bradley & Meagan –

The “permissions” each participant has in this blog are assigned relative to the formal “role” you’ve been assigned, which for all of you is “Author”. Authors may have different permissions within individual post categories. The roles below Author are Contributor and Subscriber, which have fewer permissions. Above Author are Editor and Administrator. An Editor, for example, can edit anybody’s posts and comments – I think it could become troublesome if everyone could edit everyone else’s work.

If there’s ever anything that you can’t edit for some reason, and you’d like me to do that, don’t hesitate to email me with that request.

    Cheers
