Introducing Mirro AI an exciting edtech investment opportunity, designed for the SpacesEDU learning management system in K-12 settings.


Venture investing is always a gamble, but tripling the value of your investment in less than five years isn’t. 


By partnering with Magic School AI and raising funding, we will grow our North American market share, aiming to be a major competitor in rapidly growing global edtech and LMS markets by 2035.

Reflection on the use of AI in this assignment.

The web-based AI video creator, SteveAI, was incredibly useful in creating my elevator pitch video. I was able to copy and paste my script into the site and watch it create a video with stock, copyright free images and videos, supported with background audio and narration. This allowed me to focus on the content of the message freeing up time and creative effort for the venture pitch. I also used the Ecosia’s AI chatbot when researching and collecting ideas online, helping me to define terms and explore formatting for my work. I like using Ecosia, more for the sense of climate action it gives me while browsing the internet and less for the performance of their AI chatbot; it works well enough to support searches but Gemini is a more functional product in my opinion.

    Opinion about its readiness to move forward.
    Hey Patrick, This project helped me recognize the value of how learning management systems act as an adjunct in providing more services to students instead of a storage for grades and certifications. Having a strong push towards meta-cognitive features in an LMS leans heavily towards the push to be more psychologically safe and trauma-informed in the classrooms.

    What would need to change for your to be excited about it?

    I think the real valuable information is hidden in the middle. The AI features are presented near the end of the middle and while the idea of partnerships and the cost of the venture are exciting, I was having to dig through the “how is it different from other LMS” just a bit further. The strengths however was that, your comparisons with other LMS with this LMS shows that this software can compete, especially with the focus on meta-cognition and feedback during when students need it most in online activities.

    Hi Patrick,

    I appreciated the clarity and organization of your elevator pitch. Your venture pitch is clearly aimed at potential investors, with your research behind the growing market and your cogent pathway towards expansion and eventual return on investment. Centring your tool around helping students develop their metacognitive skills is also pedagogically sound!

    Having an AI tool that will help me pose questions and provide feedback to students to encourage further reflection on their own learning definitely sounds like a wonderful tool that I would love to have as part of the Spaces.edu experience. One of the major pain points I have as a teacher who uses Spaces is the number of times I have to click on the platform if I want to go back and leave feedback to students if work is no longer easily accessible via my “recent posts” stream. Though I know that isn’t the sole aim of Mirro.ai, it also happens to solve one of my own personal frustrations with the platform.

    You have a solid venture pitch, though I would suggest fleshing out the value proposition of Mirro.ai some more. In your venture pitch, you wrote that you plan to differentiate your LMS in a way not seen, so I think just really spelling out how you are different from other LMS platforms would make it even more compelling. For example, Moodle can be integrated with various AI plug-ins. Perhaps a comparison of how Moodle’s AI plug-in integration differs from Mirro.ai’s integration with Spaces would strengthen your value proposition.

    As an EVA, if I could get a better sense of how Mirro.ai sets itself apart (for the better) from leading competing LMS platforms in terms of integrating AI tools, then I would invest. This is because some of these platforms already have a foothold in the US market, so I think breaking into that market with Spaces+Mirro would be challenging if there isn’t an ultra-clear and marketable value proposition.

  3. Hi Patrick, I am always keen on exploring the potential of LMS and how it improves the learning and management of education. As an investor I also see more potentials in B2B(2C) products as it would scale better. That’s why it was great to see how you have outlined the USP of your competitors. But I would have wanted to see how YOUR LMS is situated amongst them.

    I think you have set a. timeline to be THE next generation of LMS by 2035. That’s still quite far away, and i’m sure many things can change to escalate it in the middle. Therefore, maybe when you form a team of experts, it would be great to sit down and revisit the timeline together.

    Very interesting idea regardless, and I wish you all the best on your journey.

    Great work on your venture! Here is my EVA Review of your venture:

    Mirro AI provides an innovative solution by integrating MagicSchool AI to personalize student learning and improve workflow for teachers. Mirro AI is uniquely positioned in the market as traditional learning management systems are rigid and lack personalization.

    From the venture pitch, the experience and passion of the team was evident, and the team’s vision is clearly outlined. The venture pitch provides a competitive analysis of the market, but investors could benefit from a more detailed description on how Mirro AI stands out amongst its competitors. In addition, more evidence of user testing and pilot programs is needed to validate market demand and product efficiency. One strength of the venture pitch is that it provides a detailed ROI and growth plan for investors, which increases investor confidence.

    Recommendation:

    I recommend funding Mirro AI, with the qualification that the team conduct pilot studies and additional testing to gather user feedback and further refine its competitive positioning. With these improvements, Mirro AI has potential to become a leading tool in the field of educational technology.

  5. FEEDBACK: I believe there is significant potential in LMS innovation, which makes this a particularly compelling product. I think Mirro AI’s pitch would benefit from explicitly describing what it is. As a prospective investor not familiar with Magic School or SpacesEDU, I struggled to understand the space MirroAI is fitting into. SpacesEDU is the LMS, and MirroAI brings the AI and the metacognitive integration, but where does MagicSchool come in? Your longer pitch does illustrate how the product works, but I’d suggest this should be the very first thing discussed in both the elevator pitch and the longer pitch.

    I like your approach – partnering with existing companies to more quickly facilitate market access/legitimacy. There’s definitely potential in that strategy.
