Edmodo is a free learning management system (LMS) that looks similar to facebook. It works like google classroom, as teachers can create classes, post assignments, create online resources, activities, and tests. Teachers can have a library of resources to provide to students, and promote class discussion and collaboration. Teachers can integrate edmodo with google drive and Microsoft office. One main difference with Google Classroom, is that Edmodo has a messenger component, where teachers, students, and parents can communicate and keep track of conversations, just by using their phone app. Teachers have access to a section called edmodo labs, where new apps are created to enhance education through online learning.
Students can download the edmodo app to have access to their online class component, and participate in group chats. There are different apps within edmodo for students to use, there is one for example to ask for help from tutors (this is a paid component). Students enjoy using edmodo LMS as it is similar to the social apps they are accustomed to use.
