Storytelling is a form of teaching. Fellow MET student Erica Hargreave partnered with Lori Yearwood and Kevin Ribble to create a community site with stories in all spectra of media.
Called StoryToGo, the vlog, monthly magazine, and stories now have an accompanying site called StoryToGo classroom and a Facebook group.
Aside from being a great community for sharing motivating stories, StoryToGo is a great model of what one can accomplish with planning and partners in education and technology.
These sites are great resources for teachers of all levels of learners!
What an amazing concept and illustration of how collaboration and a community can develop and share education concepts. For me the breadth of topics included and the fact that there is a consideration for Corporate Learning is exciting.
Thank you for posting this, Evelyne! While the apparent focus on younger learners it may not necessarily offer immediate solutions or ideas for all educators, I personally think that reading about good ideas and innovative solutions — even if they’re not good ideas that you need or could use at the moment — is inspirational, as is seeing real examples of educators who said “I’m going to make something awesome with technology and some educational principles!” I love grassroots, low-tech/high-concept way-outside-the-box thinking!
