Hi everyone,
My name is Feras Alachek, and I live in Mississauga, Ontario. I have been working as an ESL teacher for around ten years, teaching basically all age groups. I am in adult education (ESL) and, for better or worse, it feels strange when you hit your tenth year in teaching.
On the other hand, I am a big fan of soccer, reading, video games, sports, chess, board games, self-development, movies, education, and sushi!
I have chosen the MET program because I feel that it surely joins my two main strengths: Academic and professional experience in Education & my love for technology and digital integration. I constantly download and use a wide range of mobile apps for a variety of purposes. Whenever I see something, I immediately search to see if there is an app for it. I would like to think that this course will be much unique in goals and means. Let’s see about that.
This is my fifth course in the first year, and I am taking two courses this term. Fingers crossed!
Looking forward to collaborating with you guys.
HEY-O! Just wanted to pop-in and say “hello”. Great pic! It’s going to be a great semester too! Cheers,
Hey Sally, good to see you here. I do have the same feeling about the semester.
Hi Feras, Nice to meet you and congratulations! You’re half way there!
hey Sarah. Nice to meet you too. Yep, 5 more courses to go.
I definitely nervous to be taking two course this term alongside some full time jobs. I’m assuming that is your child in the photo (adorable!). I have two little girls 3 & 5. It makes it that much busier but at least it’s a good excuse not to be out late and work on school in the evenings.
Hi Ryan. It is definitely a daunting task dealing with two courses, so I am working part-time these days with some tutoring on the side. Taking two courses with a full-time job is really challenging. I agree. having two daughters at that age is super sweet.
Hi Feras, congratulations on reaching the half way point! This is my first term trying two courses at the same time as well and honestly, feeing a little nervous. Good luck to us both. Beautiful countryside by the way, is that near Mississauga?
Hi Gary. Good luck to you too. I guess with some time management we can pull this off. The picture is at Rattlesnake Lookout near Mississauga.
