Within this post, the GLAZee app introduction has proven to be a highly informative resource, providing me with a wealth of knowledge and technological terminology, including AR (Augmented Reality). The app’s design is well-suited for artists, sculptors, merchants, and consumers in this field. As a teacher, I speculate that there is a simplified “user’s experience” version for students to undergo the life of an artist, pottery designer, or merchant in this industry.

    Wow, Robyn, just wow!

This is a well-researched topic for sure. What a combination of art, business, and technology! I have a feeling that this app has already been created for happy customers, artists, and those who combine those qualities. This is what I would call professional experience and special interest at their highest!

Your enthusiasm and love for what you do are truly catching. I want very much to have your bravery and mindset to open an ELL school of my own. Thank you for sharing this masterpiece, Robyn, and I wish you all success in your beautiful and honest business!

    Warm regards,

    Anna from Toronto

    Hi,
I have to say that the idea of “Glazee” is wonderful and creative. Your passion for pottery is clearly reflected in your future application and AR. I enjoyed looking at your application prototype with all those multimedia elements and beautifully picked colours and themes.
Based on my understanding, the application is made to promote and market the product of the pottery business. How would could the idea be utilized from a “learning” perspective?

      Excellent question, Noor.

Glazing is often the least appealing part of the ceramics process. Many artists, students and hobbyists will put this step off until the last minute. I have one studio potter in particular who is less than a year into her clay explorations. She really struggles to make glaze decisions, and is anxious about choices. It is quite common for her to put glaze on a piece, second guess it all night, and race to the studio to wash it off in the morning before I can fire it. I have even had a late-night text or two from her about changing her mind.
She is part of my inspiration for this app. Students, really anyone who is new to the practice, naturally would struggle to commit to a surface that you cannot erase. Pottery is a LOT of learning from mistakes. I think this app would help anyone to first try on the surface and, thus, decrease the failure rate. And, decrease anxiety.

Hi Robyn, I am so impressed by your passion for and experience with pottery!
I like the detailed introduction of GLAZee, which specified the functions (show different surface possibilities to users, sort products based on users’ preferences), usage (upload images, view using cameras), potential applications (potter and consumer versions, connect buyers to small businesses) and combination with AR technologies (apply virtual skins to the products). I could already imagine the app after your detailed description. Moreover, after reading the procedure for glazing a piece, I understand more about the value of GLAZeee. Although actually making a ceramic will still be different and more difficult than imagining, having a concrete visual solution for the glazing will be more helpful than trial and error. My favourite part is your video walkthrough of the App using; very detailed and well-designed! Thank you for sharing!

This is very nice, Robyn! Your passion about pottery and this app is very evident. The interface looks amazing and the choice of colors and visuals is fantastic! I love how you thought of every detail and I especially like the multiple functions the app allows users to perform and that it can be used by both artists and customers. The AR use is nice here and made me wonder about how you envision future AR will be implemented and utilized in your app.

    Great work! Thanks for sharing.

Thank you! I see that future AR would allow the user to view through the camera app, without taking a photo. it might adjust to different light sources and help to “see” the artwork in different spaces.
