With the available technology, it is hard to imagine technology replacing educators for several reasons, primarily because of the essential relationship-building and human interactions. However, it would be a tremendous help to our students at home in reviewing the concepts they learned, particularly if they need appropriate aid and it’s unavailable.
What surprised me the most when I tried using ChatGPT was how less robotic it responded. It gave proper reactions and a reasonable answer compared to my other Chatbot experiences. I imagine your idea would be something similar with an enhanced emotional reaction. Would it be helpful to collect some general user information to personalize the chatting experience? For example, do you think the answers would differ depending on their age?

They were pleasant and efficient experiences where I got the results I wanted. I can envision an empathetic chat bot being beneficial in customer service scenarios such as handling complaints and irate customers. Other use cases may include healthcare assistance, mental health support, and companionship chat bots. It will be interesting to see how closely chat bots (or not) can replicate human behaviours. Even if they do replicate human behaviour very well, I feel that trust becomes another issue. How can we build trust with robots?

Many of the presentations (mine included) don’t adhere to the stated aim of keeping things under 6 minutes, so I appreciated the conciseness of your presentation.
