Activity 4: SEO Tools & Metrics

Using SEO tools to analyse SEO metrics

Now that we have a basic idea of what SEO and why it’s important let’s investigate some of the tools we can use to measure common SEO metrics.  Use the class wiki and module resources to help you select metrics and evaluation tools to use for this activity.

1. Select 3 of your favorite websites/webpages and choose 5 different SEO tools/metrics to evaluate them by.
2. Before you start try to predict what the result will be for a given websites/webpages.
3. Observe the results and outcomes you get when you apply the SEO tools/metrics
4. If the observations you made were different than your predictions can you explain why?
5. Post your results for this activity along with your predictions, observations and explanations. Were you able to predict the metrics? Were you surprised by the results?
6. Update the appropriate class wiki pages with any new findings or information you have discovered during this activity.
