That’s a lesson that Vancouver NDP candidate Ray Lam learned the hard way when his private Facebook photos were made public.  On the one hand,  it seems that Facebook privacy settings may not be enough to keep private what you may not want to share beyond your friends.  On the other hand, when you are running for public office, guess you should expect that any and all of your embarrasing past will be dredged up for public scrutiny.  Guess we’re not looking for real human beings in government?!

Presenting the LEARN section

You’ll notice a minor change in the Check Yourself box on the left hand of every section page. A progress bar will give you a better way to watch your own progress and quicklinks will help you get where you need to go faster. There’s a great new content available too!

We’ve updated Digital Tattoo with juicy new articles on how the internet is influencing and shaping academic life. Heard about Open Access Learning? Wondering about cheating and plagiarism online? Questioning the reliability of web research? Read up on the Learn section.

New Section Available and Site Updates

The Digital Tattoo site has been updated. We’ve added this new update page to keep you informed on what’s going on with this site, a workshop page that will let you know when workshops at UBC will start rolling, and a feedback form in case you want to get in contact with us. All these links can be found in the top right corner of every Digital Tattoo page.

Last but not least, we have a new section open for your reading. The Work section deals with how your digital tattoo can affect your career and job search. Go on and have a look.
