Women Weaving Worlds: Resistance and Sharing Across Cultures

Mujeres Tejiendo Mundos: Resistencia y Intercambio Cultural

March 15, 9:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at the First Nations House of Learning, 1985 West Mall, UBC campus, Musqueam territory.

An encuentro between Celia Ruiz, Tzotzil and Deb Sparrow, Musqueam, to share their knowledge and experiences of weaving practices as a form of creative resistance. This event created a space for sharing the significance of women’s weaving, and learning from each other about the role of weaving in Indigenous and First Nations communities and cultures.
