Hi, my name is Templar Bacha and I am a fifth year student at UBC majoring in Geography-Environment and Sustainability and minoring in Biology. My interest in GIS has grown in my time at UBC from the introductory course of GEOB 270, to the advanced course of GEOB 370 to GEOB 479 which is more focused on the research based side of GIS. Topics which I have examined throughout my time using GIS have been flood prevention, resource planning, urban planning, natural disaster planning (tsunami’s and earthquakes), landscape ecology, health geography, and crime analysis. Paired along with GIS I as well have interests in biology with an emphasis on ecology. Furthermore I am interested in topics of crime analysis and predictive modeling.
