Gloria Kim is a 4th year International Relations major at UBC, expecting to graduate in May, 2017. She was born in Busan, South Korea, and she moved to Vancouver at the age of 13. She is fluent in two languages – English and Korean. Her main interest is peacebuilding in North Korea and eventual reunification of the two Koreas. She plans to pursue studies in law, which can become a foundation for many of human rights activities she is interested in.
Melissa Ng was born in Panama City, Panama and moved to Canada at the age of 13. She’s currently a third year UBC student pursuing a degree in International Relations with interests in learning more about the current issues and affairs involving Latin America and the rest of the world. She speaks both English and Spanish fluently, and beginners French. Her vision is to explore the world while she’s young and to learn new things every day whether this is done through travelling, or through meeting new people!
Phebe Ferrer is a 3rd year undergraduate student at UBC studying International Relations and Asian Canadian and Asian Migration studies. Born in Manila and having lived in multiple countries, she brings her experience with her into her studies and research. Her current main research project focuses on exploring the Filipino identity, while more broadly her interests lie in studying Philippine foreign relations and children’s education. She speaks English, Tagalog, and beginners French.
