GSURS: Call for Submissions

Submission Information (Note: Submissions are closed for 2022)

The German Studies programs at UBC, UVic, and UW Seattle are teaming up to host the inaugural German Studies Undergraduate Research Showcase (#GSURS2022). Each student will have a chance to present their project during a 5–7-minute presentation, which will be followed by a 5-minute discussion. We hope to provide a dynamic venue that will stimulate conversation and give students a relaxed platform to get constructive feedback on their work. In addition to presentations, we will also host talks on timely topics by diverse faculty from our three universities.

We aim to be as inclusive as possible and are thus open to feature student projects relating to any aspect of German studies. You might have a project you completed for a class that you are particularly excited about. This project could be in the form of a term paper, presentation, or creative project (e.g., graphic novel, short video essay, narrative film, etc.). Or you might have an idea you would like to develop into a presentation. Whatever your interest, topic, format, or discipline, we would love to hear about it!

What to Submit: To be considered for inclusion for the #GSURS2022 program, send us a title for your presentation along with a 150-word abstract outlining your project, its aims, and its relationship to and/or implications for the field of German Studies. Include this information alongside your name and contact email in a word document.

Submission Due Date: March 1st, 2022
