Essay
This was one of the most challenging assignments since it has been many years since I have written an academic essay. Paying close attention to required details is very important. The word count hindered my efforts since the depth and detail for the topic made it difficult to be succinct. So.. enter my daughter, my editor. She was an immense help in getting the essay in final form.
The topic for this essay was: The Principal’s Toolkit: Leadership Tools to Facilitate School Wide Integration of Technology. The focus related to specific ways of knowing that principals need in order to support the infusion of technology into schools. These include authenticity, active knowledge, openness, creativity and integrative thinking. This draws on work from Howard Gardner – The Five Minds for the Future, Dan Tapscott – Wikinomics, Parker J. Palmer – A Hidden Wholeness, Michael Fullan – Motion Leadership: The Skinny on being change savvy, Roger Martin – The Art of Integrative Thinking and Yang Zhoa – Catching up or Leading the Way.
