Assessment

Making an assessment task in Moodle is an interesting activity indeed. It reflects the capability of teachers in making their tests or quizzes a solid platform for checking students’ knowledge and also for an immediate feedback. In the quiz that I made which was mainly about language learning, I tried to tackle the most important aspects that could be hard for the students to learn. I tried to simplify the approach to language quizzes by introducing student friendly layout of the quiz. The students will feel that they are put at ease from the very beginning of the testing activity. I also included deferred feedback and that will appear once the students finish the test.
I feel that the quiz that I added to Moodle will be of great use to my ESL/ELSA students who love any kind of assessment in order to know how their levels are. There is one important factor in the field of ESL/ELSA which is the significance of any immediate non-summative assessment. The formative assessment could be an incentive to the learners. The quiz I made in Moodle could be both summative and formative.
