A bit about us:

We are a journal club in UBC’s Department of Psychology that aims to highlight and celebrate research in psychology that addresses the lived experiences and identities of diverse, often marginalized, populations. We recognize that social justice is often missing from the psychology curriculum and want to provide a space for students to engage with research that fills this gap.

Each month, club members are invited to meet virtually to discuss a research article written by a distinguished scholar in psychology or a neighbouring discipline who is conducting groundbreaking intersectional research! The authors of the papers join the meetings to present their research to the meeting attendees, and facilitate peer-driven discussions about their research. Students passionate about challenging research norms and broadening perspectives in the field of psychology are welcome and encouraged to join in our monthly discussions.
