Kiarah O’Kane

Kiarah has a BA in Psychology from UBC and is a research coordinator at the UBC Sexual Health Lab and the lab manager at the Social Cognition and Emotion Lab. Their research interests revolve around understanding the ways in which identities (e.g., sexual orientation, gender, race) and social experiences related to those identities intersect to impact sexual well-being. Kiarah is also involved in developing and disseminating online psychological interventions in order to increase accessibility to important psychological care. They are passionate about fostering a community of students interested in and engaged with intersectional research in psychology, which they work to do within this club.
