Flu Season!

So it seems my immune system has decided to peace out on me and allow the many viruses and pathogens that float around campus to enter my body because for the past week I’ve been bombarded with a combination of headaches, coughs, congestion, fever, and a whole rainbow of other symptoms. What also sucks is that I lacked the common sense to apply for MSP as soon as I got into the country and now I’m stuck in that three-month waiting period where I still don’t have health care which means not only do I have the flu, I can’t see a doctor to do anything about it. On top of that, it also means I won’t have a doctor’s note to show my professors when I ask for an extension for my homework assignments this week. Being sick sucks, kids. It feels like poop 🙁

The last has fallen

When the last midterm has been vanquished…

…. and then you realize finals are but two weeks away and the cramming must begin again.

In other news, I seem to have caf food aversion. I’m sick of cafeteria food. It’s not necessarily bad food, but it does get old after a while. If and when this happens to you, here’s a few alternatives:

  1. The village — it’s cheap and relatively close.
  2. The SUB — there’s a bunch of places to eat inside of the SUB and most of them accept your UBC card so you can use up those flex dollars. Oh, and BLUE CHIP COOKIES OMNOMNOMNOM.
  3. Tim Horton’s — for those living in Totem Park, it’s right down the road in the Forestry Building and it’s open until 8pm. My apologies to Vanier kids, the other Timmie’s location closes at 4:30pm 🙁
  4. Triple O’s — inside of the Sauder building. Amazing burgers. #Freshman150

Also note that you might want to jog/sprint/Euro-train to some of these places if you want to avoid the freshman 150.
