My parents were busy for most of my childhood so much of the information and facts I learned were through the internet, mainly through websites such as YouTube. Through videos and articles online, I was able to learn knowledge that was otherwise not provided through traditional education. I was also enrolled in French Immersion, despite not having a family member who spoke French. As no one in my family were fluent in French, I had no one to practice my newly learned sentences and vocabulary with, therefore, I resorted to online resources to strengthen my listening and verbal abilities. Though I did not learn all the language I am now fluent in by myself because school was equally as helpful, I believe that my French drastically improved through seeking resources online. This method of learning persisted into university as I continue to use the Internet as a helpful tool when understanding course material. During the summer semester, I took CHIN 131 and I consider it one of the best decisions in my academic career, mainly because it inspired me to learn about my cultural background and language.

Similar to CHIN 131, CHIN 241 has interested me in many historical figures (Confucius, Mencius) and events that have happened in China/Taiwan. Although I have only been enrolled in this course for two weeks, I am sure I will enjoy and appreciate this course. I specifically enjoy the engagement and inclusivity that is present in language courses as it makes the course material more entertaining. The story regarding the 12 animals in the Chinese Zodiac not only allowed me to remember the order of the animals, but it also taught me about the history on how these animals came to be. Despite having recollection of the animals in the Chinese Zodiac, I was not aware of the fun story behind them. I firmly believe that storytelling is educational and useful in my academic career because they provide impressionable plots that aid in remembering course material.

现在因为疫情的关系，所以都在家上网课，可能有些学生不喜欢在家里上网课，原因是自己在家无聊或不能和朋友见面所导致的，这样会让一个学生变很自闭，我想的办法就是外出尽量都戴口罩、不去人多的地方和在餐厅吃饭，这样一来还是可以出门看风景散散心或者和朋友诉说心事，如果不想出门就跟朋友打facetime或和家里人讨论心事。

我觉得疫情时间最重要的就是多互相关心和互相帮助，因为疫情对每一个人来说都是很大的变化，尤其是上课的学生。
