Myth of a techno fix?

Here’s a link to Jevon’s Paradox. Anyone from economics studied this? Seems like a sobering perspective on the so called technological fix to reducing our consumption or rate of consumption of material resources.

Yeah, this is something I was surprised wasn’t covered by the Steady-State lecture, as many people who support “de-growth” refer to it.

Noam Chomsky once said, “It is difficult to take seriously arguments about efficiency in a society that devotes enormous resources to waste and destruction. As everyone knows, the very concept of efficiency is dripping with ideology”.
