2007 Meet the New SLAIS Grads Event

Dear Graduating Students:
The School of Library, Archival and Information Studies and the SLAIS Alumni Association are pleased to announce the 2007 Meet the New SLAIS Grads Event. The event will take place at the Alice McKay Room, lower level VPL Central Branch, 350 West Georgia St., March 30, 2007 from 5:30-8pm. This is an opportunity to meet and network with alumni and future employers and colleagues. For more info go to http://www.slaisalumni.org .
Cash bar opens at 5:30pm, followed by a plentiful and wonderful assortment of finger foods. Grads will receive one FREE drink ticket.
6:45 PM – Guest speaker: Joan Andersen, Chair of the Vancouver Public Library Board and Regional Director of Radio for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation in British Columbia. Joan has had a long and varied career at both CBC Radio and CBC Television. Joan will speak about her work as VPL Board Chair, her job at CBC and views on the profession.
All SLAIS students who graduate between Summer 2006 to June 2007 attend the event for FREE, by registering online at http://www.slaisalumni.org/__page/10027505.903.0.0.2001889.aspx. Alumni members, faculty and friends support the event by purchasing tickets which cover the cost of the event for themselves and one new graduate.
Graduates who wish to invite a spouse can do so by registering the spouse using the support a Grad fee option for $20.
