Did you know that you can send print jobs from your laptops?

You can print from your own Windows XP / Windows Vista / Macbooks laptops, via the wireless network, to our library printers.

The procedure, in a nutshell, is as follows:

[1] Have the laptop connect either to “UBC VPN” or “UBCSecure” wireless network

[2] Add a printer according to instructions at
http://services.library.ubc.ca/personal-computers/how-to-print/
Note: To print to the Law Library print station, type in “LAW Queue” instead of “Woodward” as shown in the example – “\\Grizzly.library.ubc.ca\LAW Queue”

for COLOUR printing – “\\Grizzly.library.ubc.ca\LAW Colour Queue”

[3] Print to the newly installed printer

[4] Approach print station in library with a copycard to release the job:
– on the “Workstation ID” prompt:
Windows 7/Vista/XP: type “GUEST
Macbooks: type “GRIZZLY
– choose the appropriate print job according to timestamp or content descriptions

You can keep the installed library printer(s) on your laptops, in doing so you can skip step 2 if you need to re-use the same printer(s) at a later date.
