Here in Vancouver, in our very own community right here on UBC campus, is where you will find our community partner, Victoria Wakefield. Victoria is the Purchasing Manager for UBC Food Services, which is the primary food provider for all of us here at UBC. She helps determine which foods should be brought here and, in the context of our project, she negotiates what snacks and beverages the contracted suppliers put into the UBC Food Services vending machines. Victoria believes that diet is directly related to academic performance, so finding and promoting healthy food options on campus is a major directive of UBC Food Services.
