Keeping calm during registration time

To cap off our series on registration tips, our final tip for you all is to keep calm during registration time.

Yes, there will be hundreds of students registering at the same time as you, so make sure you start as soon as it’s your registration time. Courses will inevitably fill up, but don’t panic! Register onto wait lists, if available. More importantly, keep checking back to see if any seats open up.

…but most importantly, KEEP CALM.

Remember, we are here to help! Our office hours are Monday to Wednesday, 8:30 – 4pm; Thursdays 8:30am – 2:30pm; and Fridays 8:30am -4pm. You can email us by filling in our online form (please include your UBC student # when you contact our office!)

Happy Registering!

Your LFS Student Advisors,

Christine, Sarah & Natalie

To add to this post: You will find that during registration time, throughout the summer, and even into the first week of classes, students will be dropping and adding courses, therefore opening up seats to others. Departments will also be either releasing seats or wait-lists. All this to say, as long as you check back frequently, you should be able to register for most of your courses. Good luck to everyone!
