Student Directed Seminar Programs | Info sessions avail, application deadline Apr 4, 2016

Are you an academically motivated and talented 3rd-year or higher undergraduate students who is interested in trying something rather exceptional within your learning experience? Then consider the Student Directed Seminars Program.

The Student Directed Seminars Program has been running at UBC since 1999 and gives senior undergraduate students the opportunity to advance their own learning with a group of peers on a topic of their choosing.  They work closely with a Faculty Sponsor to build the course, syllabus and assignments but are fully responsible for proposing the ideas and leading their peers throughout the term.  Many of these students head off to graduate school and reflect the future academic minds of universities around the world.

Applications are now being accepted and the deadline is Monday, April 4th, 2016 at 11:59pm.  Students are eligible to receive credit for one SDS as a participant and one SDS as a Student Coordinator.

We also have some upcoming Information Sessions, where students can learn more about the proposal process and what it takes to become an SDS Coordinator.
