On international students

• On February 23, 2026, I co-presented “The epistemic borderwork of ‘back-door’ immigration discourse” as part of the Research with International Students-organized “Politics of immigration: International students and bordering” panel. Watch the recording here.
• On October 9, 2025, I appeared before the House of Commons’ Standing Committee on Citizenship and Immigration to provide expert witness testimony for its International Student Program and Study Permits study. The recording is here (beginning at 16:36).
• On November 6, 2024, I spoke on the online panel “The crash of the international student ‘market’: Causes, consequences, and the future of Canadian higher education.” On February 6, 2025, I also spoke at a follow-up in-person panel at the University of British Columbia’s Green College, which you can watch here.

On Bill C-2 (Strong Borders Act)/Bill C-12 (Strengthening Canada’s Immigration System and Borders Act)
