Jillian did a fantastic job re-teaching the basic themes of “To Kill A Mockingbird” during Friday’s class. She really understood the basic concepts of the novel and provided a very strong explanation, all the while making connections to the plot that students would understand. Jill mentioned after presenting, that having the visual aid provided her with a sense of security; she knew if she ever got lost she could have glanced down and been back on track. With Jill’s background in theatre she was able to use her enthusiasm and creativity to her advantage when she felt flustered or lost.
Overall, I think the assignment was a great exercise and it allowed us to have a glimpse into what the world of being a TOC is really like. Great job, Jill!
