Lawrence Paul Yuxweluptun breathed new life into the MOA. The vibrant use of colour, the Aboriginal style mixed with a caricature of the world power’s G7. These politically charged pieces strike a chord with the traditional homage to the artistic style while bringing in a new age feel with the current topics.
The snaked tongues of some leaders, the claws on the hands speaks volumes as to the thoughts of the artist. Interesting choice to select only “5 of the G-7 Boys” (also the title of the piece). The inclusion of these figures says a lot, but also the absence of others. Beautiful usage of colour, and a powerful message. This was my favorite piece.
