Interactive Gatsby Map

In F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby, there is an entire system of meaning embedded in the setting that is crucial to a comprehensive understanding of the novel. As such, we’re creating a Google Maps animation to help students understand the significance of space and place in relation to character, theme, plot, time, etc. Our focal literacies will be spatial, geographical, visual, cartographic, and auditory. Basically, students will be able to navigate their way through nodes on Google maps, each of which will link to multimedia packages containing videos, images, audio files, etc. about the novel’s setting.
